Finnish SaaS platform CRM-service partners with Monterro to become the market leading software provider for nonprofit organizations in the Nordics
Monterro, the Nordics’ largest B2B software investor, has acquired a majority stake in CRM-service, a Finnish market leading SaaS platform designed to simplify and automate daily operations of nonprofit organizations. The partnership is designed to accelerate CRM-service’s international expansion, with a particular focus on the Nordic region. The company’s current owners will reinvest alongside Monterro and continue supporting CRM-service’s next phase of growth. This marks Monterro’s second investment in Finland and comes shortly after Monterro expanded its operations into the country.
CRM-service improves operational efficiency and helps nonprofit organizations drive funding.
CRM-service offers a comprehensive SaaS platform that enables nonprofit organizations to manage memberships, communications, invoicing, events, member services, and donations, all in one place. By replacing multiple tools and automating manual workflows, the platform streamlines the daily operations of nonprofit organizations.
Although the nonprofit sector is large and essential to society, it is often underserved by software vendors. Membership structures are often complex, needs vary widely, and many organizations still rely on fragmented or outdated tools. CRM-service tackles these challenges by offering a unified, intuitive platform that streamlines core processes, improves revenue generation, and frees up time for organizations to focus on delivering value to their members.
“Nonprofits have limited resources and broad needs. Every hour spent switching between disconnected systems, or managing tasks manually in spreadsheets, is time taken away from the organization’s mission. Many organizations also require more effective support for donations, and our platform delivers precisely that,” says Turkka Yli-Hakala, CEO of CRM-service.
Ready to accelerate international expansion
Founded in 2007, CRM-service has already built a strong position in Finland, serving well-known organizations such as MTK, MLL, and Suomen Latu. In 2023, the company expanded successfully into Sweden and has since demonstrated rapid and profitable growth.
“We have established a solid foothold in Sweden, where customers value the platform’s versatility and our in-depth understanding of nonprofit organizations’ daily needs. With a competitive product, a growing customer base, and strong customer satisfaction, we see major potential for further international expansion,” Yli-Hakala adds.
The partnership with Monterro marks a pivotal milestone for CRM-service, which until now has grown entirely through its own cash flow. The new majority investment will enable the company to accelerate product development and scale more quickly across the Nordics.
“We are now shifting into a new gear. After building CRM-service with our own resources, this is the right moment to take the next step and strengthen our growth in Sweden and beyond. We are extremely excited to welcome Monterro as a partner,” Yli-Hakala says. “All existing shareholders will reinvest significantly, underscoring the team’s strong commitment and belief in our shared future.”
Jacob Fellman, who leads Monterro’s investments in Finland, believes CRM-service has a unique opportunity to define the technology landscape for nonprofit and membership-driven organizations.
“The nonprofit sector is now digitalizing at speed, and CRM-service is positioned at the center of this transformation. We see a clear opportunity to build the company into a market leader, first in the Nordics, and then across Europe. The team is ambitious, and the product reflects world-class Finnish software expertise. We are thrilled to be part of this Finnish success story,” says Fellman.
Monterro broadens its operations in Finland
Monterro’s previous investments in Finland include companies such as Valona Intelligence. In Finland, Monterro focuses primarily on vertical software solutions and also sees strong potential in sectors such as manufacturing and cybersecurity, where the country has exceptional technology expertise. Leveraging AI to accelerate growth is a central part of Monterro’s strategy.
In September 2025, Monterro launched its new €1.725 billion funds and expanded into Finland. These funds further strengthen Monterro’s mission of developing leading Nordic B2B software companies through hands-on support. With 70 employees, many of whom have themselves led and scaled software businesses, Monterro offers its portfolio companies not only capital, but also extensive networks, hands-on growth support, and deep expertise in international expansion.
“CRM-service is only the beginning. We aim to invest several hundred million euros from Monterro’s new funds in Finland (or ambitious Finnish software companies looking to scale) over the coming years,” says Fellman.
